ART INSTALLATION
Pinjekan is an interactive art installation that explores the timeless human fascination with flight through a blend of kinetic energy and poetic metaphor. The piece will be exhibited as part of the London Design Festival this September 2025.
At its heart is a large-scale propeller, engineered to be set in motion by the simple, everyday act of a viewer walking past. This human-generated momentum becomes the catalyst, transferring energy to a beautifully rendered image of a bird's wing, setting it into a graceful, flapping motion.
The installation creates a tangible link between human movement and avian flight. The flapping wing serves as a portal, transporting the viewer's imagination back to the very beginnings of aeronautical inspiration, da Vinci’s sketches, early flying machines, and the innate desire to soar. "Pinjekan" is more than a mechanical object; it is a meditation on the origins of innovation, reminding us that the most profound ideas often begin with observing and engaging with the natural world.
