WORKSHOP
Connecting through sound to quieten the mind.
This sound workshop involves pranayama (breath control) and instrument making, drawing on the practice of Nada Yoga and Brahmari Breath.
When we engage with sound with a childlike openness, we shift from thinking into sensing, from separation into relationship.
This workshop invites us to move out of the head and into the body through sound-making, using natural elements including bamboo, clay, water and breath.
Modern science confirms that everything vibrates. Yogic traditions knew this and believed that beneath all form lies nada, the primordial sound.
The session conclude with a short performance. In this collective soundscape, the boundary between self and other begins to soften, pointing towards our inherent interconnectedness with the environment around us.
